Find Out Which Elliptical Trainers Offer You the Most Value!

2017_topellipticalsThere are many different options when it comes to home ellipticals.  Your most immediate concern may be, “Which one can I afford?!”  We’ve decided to help you out a bit with our top recommendations for elliptical trainers that are under $1,000.  We ranked these machines based on their stability, durability, warranty, features, programming, and company reputation.

Many ellipticals that can be purchased at ‘big box’ stores (a.k.a. those huge fitness superstores) are made of very cheap components that don’t stand up to actual use.  Plus, these machines are often backed by almost non-existent warranties that do you no good when your machine breaks down.

Instead, we’d encourage you to spend at least $599 on one of the machines below.  All of these ellipticals come from reputable companies that use quality components, provide reasonable warranties, and deliver effective workouts.  We know this because (unlike most other elliptical review sites) we’ve actually visited the factories and tested these machines.

So… here you go… our 2017 list of top 10 elliptical trainers for under $1,000!

Defined by Quality & Durability

Yowza Jupiter Elliptical Trainer ReviewYowza is best known for their Cardio Core elliptical trainers, which redefined cross-trainers.  The Cardio Core utilizes an upper body workout that forces your body to twist and in the process target your abs.  However, Yowza didn’t want to neglect potential customers who want a more traditional elliptical trainer, and that is why they released the Yowza Jupiter elliptical trainers.

This company used to be downright awesome, but things have been a bit rocky in the last year.  Until things get figured out, we’d suggest you look at some other brands on our recommendations list.

Yowza Fitness is OUT OF BUSINESS.

We are still waiting to hear more information about this company but it seems they are no longer producing machines.

NOTE:  You should check out the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE7i instead.  It’s another quality rear drive machine with a long respected company.

GreenMaster is the parent company that builds Yowza products.  They have been in business for over 30 years and ship fitness equipment to over 47 countries.  They are a major player in international fitness equipment sales.  I worked for a company that re-branded GreenMaster treadmills and ellipticals, and their service record was impressive.

Watch the full video review taken on a recent visit to Yowza.

Yowza Jupiter Plus Elliptical Features

Note: There are three models, the Jupiter Pilot, Jupiter and the Jupiter Plus.

Rear Drive Design — There is some controversy on which is better and more ergonomic, a rear or front drive elliptical trainer.  The original elliptical trainers were a rear drive, and until recently was covered by patents, which resulted in companies creating front drive ellipticals to get around the patent.  Some consider the rear drive design to be more ergonomic because it tends to better center the user and it has a more natural gait.

Variable Stride Length — Actually you don’t adjust the stride, it increases as you adjust the incline.  The Yowza Jupiter  and Jupiter Pilot goes from an 18”-22” stride length and inclines to 25%.  The Yowza Jupiter Plus has an 18”-24” stride and inclines to a heart pounding 35%.   The benefit of the incline feature and the adjustable stride length is that you can target different lower body muscles.   You can also reverse the motion and target further muscles. Note: Very tall individuals may find the 18″ stride length while level confining.

Soft Gel Self Pivoting Pedals  — A common complaint with elliptical trainer users is the numbness and strain that comes with your foot constantly lifting up to meet the elliptical motion.  Yowza came up with a simple, but brilliant solution.  The pedal on the Yowza Jupiter pivots on a rocker arm, but pivots based on the appropriate pressure that is applied.  This design significantly reduces the foot lift issue and the Soft Gel insert is a must have but something you rarely see on other manufacturers.

Sealed Bearings  — You would normally pay much more money for this feature in other brands but Yowza features sealed bearings in the joints which are quieter and last longer than bushings.

Yowza Jupiter ConsoleMulti-Grip Handlebars (Plus Model Only) — The multi-grip handle bars allow you to target different arm muscles.

Speakers & MP3 Input — Most $1,000 plus elliptical trainers come with speakers and the ability to plug in a player device.  When I was at the Yowza headquarters the CEO mentioned that they wanted a sound system that was well above the industry standard, which it is.  There is also a rack for your tablet or smartphone.

3-Speed Fan — Another feature found on most ellipticals.  Because you can increase the fan speed it is better than most, but you will not get blown away.

202 lbs. Unit Weight — The heavy weight guarantees the Yowza Jupiter elliptical will be very stable and can handle heavier users. You may want to opt for the inside delivery option because of the weight.

Warranty — The warranty is typical at this price range, although some brands have less coverage for their $1,300 models.  The warranty is lifetime frame, flywheel and magnetic braking system, 5 years parts and 2 years labor. (NOTE: The Jupiter Pilot is a smaller, entry level machine – unit weight 167 lbs, and a lesser warranty – Life time Frame, 2 years parts & electronics, 1 year in-home labor.

Our Review — Yowza Jupiter Plus Elliptical Trainer

What is the profile of a Yowza Fitness Jupiter customer – Someone that wants an ergonomically design elliptical that can take abuse.   A similar version of the Jupiter was sold under a different brand name for years and had an excellent service record.   In fact, a leading consumer magazine gave the re-brand version very high ratings.

It’s a good machine, but we suggest you check out the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE7i instead.  It’s another quality rear drive machine with a long respected company.

Yowza Sanibel With Cardio Core Motion

Yowza Fitness Sanibel elliptical trainer review

When I went out to the Yowza Fitness headquarters, the feature that really stood out was the Cardio Core arm motion.  It is found on all of their Cardio Core elliptical trainers.  At the lower price spectrum are the Yowza Sanibel i35 and the Yowza Captiva.  The difference between the two is the amount of adjustment to their stride and incline motion.

The Yowza Captiva has a variable stride that goes from 18″ to 32″.  While the Yowza Sanibel has a variable stride that goes from 18″ to 26″ and a 0-35% incline adjustment which gives you a more strenuous workout when desired.

Yowza Fitness is OUT OF BUSINESS.

We are still waiting to hear more information about this company but it seems they are no longer producing machines.

NOTE:  You may want to check out other really strong rear drive machines like the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE9i

Cardio Core Arm Motion

The Cardio Core arm motion is a breakthrough design that targets and tones upper body muscles.  Of course, that is what all elliptical trainers are suppose to do.  The reality is people tend to go through the motions when using the upper body handlebars.  The majority of the resistance is applied to the legs. Most people apply little or no pressure to the handlebars.

The Yowza Sanibel takes a different approach to toning the upper body.  Rather than two handlebars that move back and forth, there is one t-bar that moves left to right with the elliptical motion.  Your upper body slightly twists with the stride, and in the process you target you abs and obliques.   It is like doing stomach crunches or holding a weight and moving the upper body left  to right.

The abs are an area most of us would like to improve, and to do so you have to both burn calories and apply resistance to that area.  Your typical elliptical trainer does not concentrate meaningful resistance to the abs, in fact it does little to tone the upper body.

When working out on the Yowza Sanibel, I notice the tension in my abs.  In addition,  my cardio shot up in a short period of time.  In fact, I chose to switch back and forth between holding the t-bar and the stationary handlebars.  It gave me a chance to catch my breath, which means using the Cardio Core arm motion will give you a serious cardio workout.

Other Features – Yowza Fitness Sanibel Elliptical Trainer

Electronic Adjust 18″-26″ Elliptical Stride — Gone are the days when elliptical trainers had short choppy elliptical strides.   The longer strides tend to give a more natural motion that is like running in the air. The Sanibel has a very comfortable 18″ baseline stride length and the motion tends to be much more elliptical than circular.  Consequently, there is less bouncing. For a more aggresive workout, the Sanibel i35 can be electonically adjusted to a 26″ srtide length and 35% incline on the fly.  It has the smallest stride length and incline adjustment than any CardioCore machine so it may better accommodate a shorter person.

Also the Stride is set at what the company calls a “ramp less” incline. It is slightly inclined to give you a more strenuous workout. In comparison their Pompano model tends to have a more level stride.

Rear Drive — There is some controversy on which is better, a  front or rear drive design.  However, the one advantage of the rear drive over the front is the absence of rollers and rails.  They tend to wear, require regular lubrication and can often be noisy.

Flywheel — The weight of the flywheel is very important in contributing to a smooth and natural elliptical stride. The Sanibel  has a heavier than normal weighted flywheel.

228 Lb. Unit Weight — I once had an elliptical buyer complain about the model they purchased because it was too heavy. For me the heavier the better, because it contributes to the stability of the machine. At 230 lbs. the Sanibel will give you a very solid feel and has a 400 lb maximum user weight rating.

Bearing System — All the joints feature a sealed bearing which is quieter and more durable than a bushing.

Yowza Fitness Sanibel ConsoleSound System — Most ellipticals come with a MP3 plug-in. I was told that the company opted for a iPod docking station instead because it results in better audio quality. The sound is above average for a cardio machine. There is also a three speed fan that points towards your core.

Warranty — The Yowza Sanibel has an above average warranty, which includes lifetime on the braking system and frame, 5-year parts and 2-year labor.

Our Review — Yowza Fitness Sanibel Elliptical Trainer

The Cardio Core arm motion may be the next evolution in crosstraining and it is that feature that distinguishes the Yowza Sanibel from the pack.  Even without it, the Sanibel would be a quality crosstrainer.

Yowza Fitness is a fairly new company and, unfortunately, we’ve noticed some issues with their operation during this last year.  We’re a bit hesitant to give them our highest rating while they sort things out.

Innovation with Cardio Core Technology

Yowza Captiva Elliptical Trainer I had the chance to test the Yowza Captiva elliptical trainer when I was at their corporate headquarters. You’ll find that most of the reviews of the Captiva are from individuals who never actually been on this machine.

What makes this unique crosstrainer appealing are two features – Variable Motion & Cardio Core Training.  Both which can provide one of the best cross training workouts in the industry.

Yowza Fitness is OUT OF BUSINESS.

We are still waiting to hear more information about this company but it seems they are no longer producing machines.

NOTE: Since Yowza is no longer producing machines, we recommend you check out a machine like the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE9i instead..

Yowza Fitness is the U.S. subsidiary of Greenmaster, which has been manufacturing fitness equipment around the world for the last 28 years. The company has a reputation for building quality products that are low maintenance at a value price. I’ve met the owner on a couple of occasions.

Yowza Fitness Captiva Elliptical Features

Cardio Core Training Elliptical — The Cardio Core Training is a completely new concept, which you will not find on any other elliptical brand.  The builders were looking for a way to both distinguish themselves from the competition, but they also wanted to improve the crosstraining experience.

One of the so-called benefits of an elliptical trainer is the combination upper and lower body workout.  As your lower body works the elliptical stride, your upper body is suppose to get resistance training by the back and forth motion of handlebars.  At least that is the theory.  In reality, most people who work out on an elliptical trainer tend to go through the motions with their upper body. Most of the resistance is absorbed by the leg muscles, while the arms are basically along for the ride. Consequently, there is virtually no toning to your upper body.

Faced with this dilemma, the engineers at Yowza Fitness came up with “Cardio Core Training”.  A crosstraining innovation that works your core muscles, also known as your abs.  You have two tee-shape handlebar over the console that swings left and right with the motion of the pedals.  The design forces your body to constantly twist, and in the process work your abs.  It is like doing stomach crunches.

It appears that it does a very good job of not only working and toning your lower body muscles, but also your sartorius and your internal and external obliques.  I could also feel how the motion was stretching my back.

On our most recent visit we ask the CEO how successful the Cardio Core Training was? He said they have sold about 13,000 units with this feature. It makes up about 95% of their elliptical business. I also asked how customers have responded to this unique feature? He mentioned that the response has basically been 100% favorable. People really appreciate the benefits of the Cardio Core Training.

Variable Motion Elliptical — Most manufacturers are moving beyond the standard elliptical design with the fix motion, largely because the benefits these machines provide are limited. With the Captiva you get 12 motions that vary from a wide 18″-28″.  We’re not talking about just 12 variable elliptical stride lengths, but variable motions designed to work different lower body muscles and improve your cardio exercise.

The first motion is an 18″ relatively flat oval shape stride, where the peak is 2″ higher than the bottom.  It is more like a traditional elliptical stride. As you move up the motions your stride increases and you find your lifting your leg up higher towards the front of the stride.  That is in comparison to a typical elliptical stride where you have to push down at the top of the stride to keep the motion going, thus putting pressure on your knees. The variable stride goes up to a lengthy 28″, providing a heart pounding workout. At that level it may be one of the most strenuous workouts of any elliptical in the market.

There are two benefits to the variable motion. First, it gives you the ability to work different lower body muscles.  In the lower motions you tend to work your quads, while in the higher levels you work your hip flexors, lower back and hamstrings.  The second benefit isyou get an intense cardio workout.  As you move up the motion levels your heart will start pounding.   It is the kind of workout that serious athletes will appreciate.

Other Features

Electromagnetic (Eddy Current) Braking System — I’m told that the system used in the Captiva is top of the line and is found on many of the high end and commercial elliptical trainers.

Heavy Flywheel — The flywheel is a hefty giving it a very smooth feel. You can tell the difference when you start or stop – the process is gradual.

Sealed Bearings — All the joints have sealed bearing, in comparison to bushings.  You would expect it in an elliptical at this price.  Sealed bearings wear better and are quiet.

Backlit LCD Display — I see more and more manufacturers using this type of hi-res LCD display in comparison to an LED.  It gives a sharp and clear presentation of your feedback data.

3-Speed Fan — Not a costly add-on, but one that is very popular with customers.   It gives relief by pointing the breeze directly at your core.

iPod Docking Station and Speakers — They designed the Yowza Captiva with a iPod docking station rather than an MP3 input. This means only Apple devices will work on it. Yowza did this because the docking station provides higher quality audio over the MP3 plug-in. They also used some of the best speaker system you will find on any elliptical trainer. The sound is definitely better than the majority of sound systems that cheap out on their components.

Warranty — Lifetime frame and Braking system, 5-year parts and 2-year in home labor coverage.

SureFit Pedals with Soft Gel Inserts — The pedals pivot with the elliptical motion, which significantly reduces any heal lift. In addition, you can actually push down on the pedal and it will give.  That is because It sits on bushings so like a treadmill it absorbs shock from the impact of pressing down on the pedal. According to the company…

“Our patented feature includes two cushioned gel foot pads spaced a perfect 5 1/2” apart to allow for the most biomechanically designed placement and movement. Your knees never extend out over your feet, your heel is always down and the force needed to create movement is evenly distributed and grounded. Each pad is anchored to our articulating pedal system that allows each foot pad to rock forward and backward intuitively throughout the elliptical motion. This creates the most comfortable and stress free design available in the market.

Our Review — Yowza Fitness Captiva Elliptical Trainer

The Yowza Captiva is one of the most innovative elliptical trainers on the market.  With the Variable Motion and the Cardio Core Training, this elliptical takes cross training to a whole new level.

The Yowza Captiva is a crosstrainer that not only provides an intense cardio workout, but also works more muscle groups than potentially any other elliptical on the market.  In particular, it targets your abs, and we all want firmer abs.

In testing the Captiva it seems very durable, solid and stable. In fact, it weighs a hefty 228 lbs. It comes with large wheels for moving, but this is the type of equipment you will probably want to leave in place. I was told the service issues have been minimal.

One more thing to mention.  We’ve noticed that Yowza (the company) has undergone several changes in this last year.  Things do not operate as smoothly as they used to which makes us a little nervous about their level of customer care.  You may want to look at some other options like the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE9i before making your selection.

Yowza Pompano With Cardio Core Training

Yowza Fitness Pompano Elliptical Trainer Review and Ratings

The Yowza Pompano elliptical trainer is their lowest priced model with the patented Cardio Core Training option.  This unique feature is only available on Yowza ellipticals, and it adds a whole new dimension to crosstraining.  What has made elliptical trainers so popular is both the low impact workout and the combined upper and lower body exercise.

We need to give you a quick word on Yowza.  This company used to be awesome, but things have fell by the way-side these last few months.  We no longer feel they are a solid investment.

Yowza Fitness is OUT OF BUSINESS.

We are still waiting to hear more information about this company but it seems they are no longer producing machines.

Note:  It’s a shame that the company has gone out of business.  This Cardio Core technology is certainly unique.  You may want to check out the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE7i for another option.

What are the Advantages of a ‘Cardio Core’ Elliptical?

Your typical elliptical trainer has the dual handlebars that move back and forth in sequence with the elliptical stride.   The advantage of the dual action is that you not only exercise more muscle groups, but you get a more intense cardio workout.  Unfortunately, many people who workout on an elliptical trainer tend to go through the motions with the upper body exercise.  They do not apply adequate resistance in order to get the full benefit.  Also, the upper body workout tends to only target the arms and shoulders.

With the Cardio Core Training  on the Yowza Pompano elliptical trainer you have a totally different concept with the upper body exercise.  Rather than two handlebars moving in conjunction with the elliptical stride, you have a single T-bar handlebar that moves left to right.  When I was at the corporate headquarters I tried the Cardio Core, and what I immediately noticed was how it worked the abdominal muscles.

According to the web site, “Yowza’s patented counter-rotational Core motion targets the muscles of internal and external obliques, rectus abdominus and serratus anterior like no other cardio machine.”  For many of us, tightening our abs is one of our top fitness goals.  We all want a leaner and tighter stomach, and an elliptical trainer with Cardio Core Training does a better job than your typical crosstrainer.  I did feel that if I owned the Yowza Pampano I would probably switch back and forth from using to the cardio core training to using the stationary handlebars, because I found constantly using the Cardio Core Training was exhausting.  Which is a good thing.

Yowza Pompano Elliptical Trainer Features…

Yowza Fitness Pompano Console18″ Stride Length – You get a smooth and natural 18″ stride. The Yowza Sanibel and the Captiva have a variable stride, which you may want to consider if you are a taller individual.  Yowza also uses fairly heavy flywheels, which further contribute to a natural elliptical stride.

Self Pivoting Foot Pedal with Soft Gel Technology – The pedal is designed to angle with the elliptical motion.  It actually teeters based on the pressure from your foot. The advantage is that you have less heal lift, resulting in less strain on your ankles and less chance of numbness, according to the company. Combined with the Soft Gel covering on the pedals, it’s one of the more comfortable pedals we have tested.

“Each pad is anchored to our articulating pedal system that allows each foot pad to rock forward and backward intuitively throughout the elliptical motion. This creates the most comfortable and stress free design available in the market.

Rear Drive – This is a rear drive design elliptical.  The benefits are there are less moving parts that could result in service issues. (you do not have to clean the rollers, plus less noise). The only disadvantage is that the pedal distance can sometimes be further apart than on a front drive machine, which can be an issue for shorter woman.

Sealed Bearings – The sealed bearing feature on all joints is standard on this machine.  Sealed bearings are very quiet and durable in comparison to bushings which wear more quickly.

Speakers and iPod Docking Station – When I was talking to the company president he mentioned that they wanted a speaker system that wasn’t embarrassing.  I’ve got an elliptical where the speakers sound so bad I won’t listen to them.  The Yowza Pompano elliptical speaker have a decent sound quality considering their part of an exercise machine. They opted to have an iPod docking station, rather than an MP3 plug-in because the sound quality is much better.

Warranty – Yowza falls inline with the industry, offering 5-year parts and 2-year labor coverage. The frame and braking system are covered for lifetime suggesting that the Yowza Pompano is durable and generally has few service issues. In fact, out of 330 reviews on consumer affairs, Yowza has a 4.5 star rating which is higher than anyone else in the industry at present.

Our Review — Yowza Pompano Elliptical Trainer

In quality, the Yowza Pompano is equivalent to machines that typically sell for a much higher price.  The cardio core training has been available for several years now and customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

We have yet to get a complaint from anyone saying they bought one of the Yowza ellipticals with the Cardio Core Training and did not like it.  As previously mention, many people tend to go through the motions with your standard elliptical trainer.  With the Cardio Core Training you are forced to twist back and forth, thus working your abs.

This new concept of cross training seems appears to becoming more popular.  Since Yowza has had so many issues in the recent months, you may want to check out the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE7i for another option.

High Marks for Quality Construction

Xterra FS5.25E Elliptical Trainer Review and RatingThe Xterra FS5.25E elliptical trainer is a private labeled crosstrainer, built by Dyaco.  This is the same company that builds Sole and Spirit elliptical trainers, and both these brands have a good reputation for quality and durability.  The Xterra FS5.25E is the entry level model of the Xterra brand.  There are two other models.

See my “Best Buy” Elliptical Trainer Recommendations!

Xterra FS5.25E Elliptical Trainer Features…

Front Drive Design – The benefits of the front drive is that it is easier to mount and dismount.  However, the rear drive models tend to position you better over the mechanisms.  I find when working out on the Sole E25, which is very similar, you have to lean forward when utilizing the upper handlebars.

Incline Capable – You have the ability to incline the elliptical motion, similar to a treadmill.  The advantage is that you can target more lower body muscles.  You also tend to get a more intense workout as you raise the incline. A major drawback to the Xterra FS5.25E is that you have to change the incline manually.  Thus you are not able to make adjustments on the fly as you workout.  You also are only able to adjust to three levels.

Dual Wheel Footpedals – What I do like about the front drive design on the Xterra and Sole elliptical trainers is that they utilize a dual concave wheel for each footpedals.  Each pedal rolls over a dual set of rails.  This provides a more solid and stable feel to your stride.

19 Lbs. Flywheel – A decent weight for an elliptical at this price range.  However, you will notice that more expensive ellipticals with heavier flywheels tend to feel more natural.

Speakers and MP3 Input – It is convenient to have speakers in the console, but I’m not that impressed with the sound.  Dyaco tends to cheap out on the speaker system.

236 Lbs. Unit Weight – A decent weight for a $999 elliptical.  The Xterra FS5.25S has a fairly stable feel, and it takes some effort to make it rock.

Xterra FS5.25E ConsoleConsole – As one reviewer on the Costco site mentioned, the LCD display is rather basic, and you would expect more with Weekend electronics.  There is a moderate selection of installed workout programs.   Although I tend to always use the manual control.

Warranty – Lifetime frame and braking system, 3-years parts and 1-year labor.  Fairly standard coverage at this price range.

Our Review – Xterra FS5.25S Elliptical Trainer

I give the Xterra FS5.25S high marks for being a well built machine, utilizing quality components.  In fact, based on the quality I would say both the Xterra FX5.25 and the Sole E25 are some of the best front drive ellipticals at $999.  I’m not that impressed with features like the speaker system, console and the manual incline.

Also I suggest  you consider a rear drive elliptical trainer alternative, like the NordicTrack SpaceSaver SE71.  The basic design of the AudioStrider  is based on the design of commercial Precor ellipticals.  In fact, NordicTrack leases the patent.  The rear design tends to better center you over the machine and is more ergonomic.  You also get a power incline with the AudioStrider.

Also see the Xterra FS5.7e elliptical review.

Reebok 1000 X EllipticalReebok elliptical is a product of Icon Fitness, the manufacturer of Nordic Track and ProForm. Only a few models are comparable to the NordicTrack and ProForm versions, for the production of the two are on the same manufacturing lines. The workout equipment has no connection to the Reebok shoe brand, as Icon is a separate business entity that purchased the name “Reebok.”

If you want to know if Reebok elliptical is a smart buy, compare the model, features, and costs to the NordicTrack and ProForm versions. Although the base models are almost identical, the superiority of one over the other may be visible only after comparing features, for one may have a built-in sound system, and the other may have a broader range of program options.

Reebok 1000 ZX Elliptical—Review

The most impressive feature of the Reebok 1000 ZX Elliptical is its incline ramp that inclines at 30 degrees. There aren’t many ellipticals costing less than $1,000 and having an inclination.

You can vary the form of the elliptical stride on the Reebok 1000 ZX, allowing you to work a wider variety of muscles from your calves and quadriceps to your hamstrings and gluteus maximus. The best part of the elliptical is that it tones and does not cut fat on the users’ legs.

The Reebok 1000 ZX is popular among its users. They like the facility to choose from the many programs, the slip-proof cushioned pedals, compact design, resistance levels, power ramp, etc. If you ignore the faulty parts and unfavorable labor warranty, it is a pretty good model.

The Reebok elliptical looks excellent, feels robust, rides smoothly, and includes many programs on the dashboard to keep you motivated and enthusiastic about training every day.

Unfortunately, Reebok no longer sells the 1000 ZX, and the firm no longer manufactures ellipticals. For a far better alternative, see our Best Ellipticals Under $1000.

Best Ellipticals Under $1000

The first elliptical we would like to talk about here is the NordicTrack elliptical, the closest alternative to Reebok ellipticals. Continue reading to know why!

NordicTrack Ellipticals—The Perfect Choice

NordicTrack ellipticals are the perfect choice for an excellent interactive personal training experience. NordicTrack has a massive selection of high-quality, low-impact ellipticals, so you can pick one that suits your fitness level, space, and price.

NordicTrack has gained global consumer support and confidence as the most extensive fitness equipment company. It is a part of Icon Fitness, and as per the company’s business record, it has closed over a billion sales globally. So, when it comes to exercise equipment, who can we trust more than NordicTrack?

Nordic Track Ellipticals—The Preferred Elliptical

NordicTrack manufactures one of the top elliptical trainers in the market. A cross-trainer, or elliptical trainer, is a piece of stationary fitness equipment that allows multidimensional activities like climbing, walking, jogging, etc. If we perform the activities mentioned above without an elliptical machine, we are susceptible to impact injuries due to excess tension on the joints. Because of the low impact on the joints, people with certain health conditions can also use an elliptical to stay in shape.

The NordicTrack elliptical guarantees the highest quality and provides excellent warranty services. NordicTrack offers outstanding customer service, and their service personnel is ever-willing to help the user with a problem with the NordicTrack elliptical. All they must do is contact customer support for help. The same parent firm manufactures ProForm ellipticals. As a result, we can find similar models between these two fitness companies.

In recent years, NordicTrack ellipticals have dominated the $800-$3,000 price range. NordicTrack has achieved such a significant milestone by delivering innovative and long-lasting fitness equipment at a fair price.

Unique Features of NordicTrack Ellipticals

A firm must spend its resources on research and development to increase product quality in response to customer requests. Customer feedback varies from one customer to another, depending on their personal preferences. Hence, when people utilize a product, their feedback could be positive or negative. As a result, acquiring and evaluating data is essential for developing more realistic goods to address current customer grievances.

NordicTrack is a firm that invests in research and development. That’s a great benefit with a positive outcome. iFit technology has led to the development of several new workout equipment features. It’s an energizing device that links your elliptical trainer to the Internet.

With iFit Technology and Google Maps, You can Workout Anywhere in the World

When we exercise, we want to build our physique and work on our physical/mental health. Our hectic lifestyle prevents us from finding time to workout in the space of our choice. However, with the NordicTrack-built iFit technology, we can bring the world into our indoor exercise environment. This technology makes it possible for us to exercise practically anywhere.

The iFit technology uses Google maps to trace a course on the computer. The elliptical’s resistance and strength will replicate the terrain or scenery. So, while being at home, you will enjoy the benefits of working out in nature thanks to the iFit feature.

We can use Google Maps’ street, satellite, or earth view tools to monitor our workout development. We’d have to utilize a laptop or a smartphone for this, and the user would be able to view Google Maps directly from the dashboard.

Reebok Elliptical Review—FAQs

  • Which is the best elliptical?

Many people consider Reebok elliptical cross trainers to be the best because the brand is well-known in the fitness industry and has been around for a long time. Alternatively, NordicTrack produces a high-tech and comfortable elliptical ideal for use in a home gym. Still, the SF-E905 Cross Trainer from Sunny Health and Fitness is a good option if a high-end model in ellipticals is not your choice right now.

  • What is the difference between front drive and rear drive elliptical?

Front-drive ellipticals add to resistance, making it hard to exercise. The rear-drive ellipticals are more comfortable to use with their larger and more natural strides.

  •  Are NordicTrack ellipticals worth it?

When it comes to home elliptical machines, NordicTrack has excellent reviews, excellent brand recognition, and better and more options to choose from. The NordicTrack ellipticals aren’t the most costly or the cheapest, but they come with features and integrated routines pleasing to reviewers.

What Size Elliptical Trainer is Best for You?

Some ellipticals are very compact and some are space hogs, comparable in size to a treadmill. Obviously, it is important to purchase an elliptical that will fit in your house, but you also want a machine that has a natural elliptical motion and is stable.

We recommend you avoid the cheap, sub $500 elliptical trainers that you find at mass retailers. Yes, these machines are very compact, but they generally have a short, choppy and unnatural elliptical motion. Since they have such a small footprint and are not very heavy, they can be rather unstable. The instability is most apparent when subjected to a strenuous workout. These machines also have smaller stride lengths, making your elliptical exercise feel constraint.

Does that mean you should avoid compact elliptical trainers? Not necessarily. Depending on your available room and budget, a compact elliptical may make sense. And there are several manufacturers that sell ellipticals that are relatively compact, and yet are heavy and stable. They are equipped with rear drives that provide a smooth, natural elliptical motion. ONE recommendation is the Yowza Largo, which is reasonably priced.

Larger and Longer is More Stable

NordicTrack SE7i – This rear drive model folds down for storage.

If you have the budget and the room then consider a regular size elliptical trainer (5’6″-7’6″). It will generally have a “flatter” feel to the elliptical motion. It is more like walking and running, and there is less upswing and kick.

It also makes sense that the larger and longer machines will have more stability, and since they are generally priced higher, they tend to be of better quality and more durable.

Center Drive Machines

Center drive machines are another option. The can offer the advantage of being fairly compact, while still being extremely stable. They also offer the benefits of close pedal distance and easy step-up mounting. NordicTrack offers moderate price models.
